Default Fleas!

Thanks to my father, I have fleas in the house, and on one of my dogs AGAIN. He just HAD to bring his dog up here when he visited. Said dog bit my child, to top that off. Frontline is not working on her either, which is adding to the frustration here.

I have already bombed the house once, had the hubby treat the backyard, treated her with frontline 72 hours after the first dip and she is still covered. I'm ready to pull my hair out over this.

Why is the frontline not working??? AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Default Urgent Help

I can recommend as well purchasing boraxo. It is then put in a liquid sprayer, warm water. I use about one cup to a regular quart sprayer. Shake it up well.

Put the sprayer on misting. Spray everywhere, carpets, corners, cracks in floors, upholstered furniture, draperies. Of course don't saturate or it may leave a water mark.

You leave that on overnight. The next morning it has dried and it works simply, it crystalizes and works its way down into the fiber, cracks, etc. It kills the larvae of the flea and other critters. You should vacuum which helps to move crystals into the fabric.

And it's non-toxic used as directed. If you go to www.rott-n-chatter.com, you will find a link there with more directions. I have used it in the yard and in dog bedding and it works!

Glad you like it. I moved to MD thinking that fleas were going to be a big problem. And mosquitos. Actually ticks are the big problem and I have not seen (knock on wood) fleas or mosquitos much at all.

I have also successfully used those from PetsWarehouse for immediate results, but this other method does work over a long time, after the bomb is gone.

When should a prep this year to avoid fleas? Should I do it soon or wait until the weather gets cooler?

If you are in an area where fleas are active, here it is usually in the warm weather.

I like to use borax in the carpet and cracks in the floor. You mix it with warm water and mist anywhere that fleas lay eggs.

Your vet should also be able to give you one of the newer preventatives which work really good on keeping fleas and ticks from biting.

You can order some excellent flea products from Pets Warehouse. I have used their Adams Flea and Tick spray with great success.

What part of the country are you in?
