In early August I am going to go on a 3-day backpacking trip with my GSD -- I want to get him used to wearing a doggie backpack/saddlebags. Has anyone used these before? Any tips on getting my dog adjusted?

I would put it on him for a few minutes and praise him when he doesn't seem to mind it. I really don't think you'll have a problem, though. GSD's tend to want to please their owners. Also, make sure you have worked him up to all the exercise of a 3 day hike. You don't want him to be sore and have achy pads. Have fun!

that sounds like fun put the bag on him empty first and gradualluy build up on things u put i there make sure u have him in shape!!
