New baby and pet?

I have a friend that is having a baby and wants to get a new pet dog/puppy at the same time or just before she has the baby, is that a good idea to be looking after a new dog and new baby what do you lot think, or should she wait until the baby is older before getting a pet.

Two goldfish were in their tank.

I would personally wait a little bit to get the dog. Maybe 6-8 months, that's when I got mine.

It’s her first baby, but I’m sure that she is aware and realize how mach attention a baby needs. But I don’t think that she really realize how mach time a new pet will take up as she has not had a pet dog before,

You hit the nail right on the head there, Bing. Definitely encourage her to wait, getting a puppy either before she has the baby or right after is going to overwhelm her.

I would not sell a puppy to a family expecting a baby. Once the baby is born, they may be overwhelmed, and the puppy will be disposed of not the baby.

I have a good friend who has three rotties all under two years of age. She has four children all under 8. She shows one of the rotties, and somehow is doing it all.

I personally think she needs to have some counseling
