Well, Fi really outdid herself. She came into season a month early and I saw her flirting with my old stud dog, Donnie. Handsome and steady, Donnie has not been a dad for about 5 years. I didn't think he had it in him, but I knew his nose was impeccable. I wanted to know if Fi was flirting for real or just fun, and Donnie took two seconds to make the fact of her heat undeniable by immediately tying with her. Donnie is ten! However, 13 puppies were produced, 9 living, 4 stillborn. Not exactly what I had in mind as her breeding was to be with Baron! But I could not have wanted a better pedigree though not a line breeding which I still have in my mind for her. http://www.jugendlieberotts.com/page6.html

I lost my old photo site which no longer keeps photo albums. I found a new one. It is hopefully working as I have put a slide show up on it: http://jugendliebe.myphotoalbum.com/...set_albumName= Let me know what you think.

On March 31st I returned home from a house hunting trip to NC. It was after dark and I was tired from the 6 hour drive. Donnie was outside in the kennel during that day so the family wouldn't have to run home at lunch to get him out. We all went right out to get the old guy. He's 10 and I knew he was missing us. Hannah (Donnie granddaughter), Journey (Donnie daughter from last litter), and Fi, the momma to Journey were all happy to see him, but he was very interested in Hannah as she must have come into season unbeknownst to me. I managed to get her put into the kennel I took him out of so that she would be safe from the Lothario. We headed to the back door which is a set of concrete steps going down five or so feet. Donnie took advantage of my tiredness and Fi's instinct to stop at the top of the stairs to make sure I was right behind to "nail" her. He's the Cary Grant of old rottweilers. Needless to say, this was not good and both of them tumbled head over tail down the cellar stairs. Donnie seriously hurt his "winky". Fi seemed unhurt. The vet confirmed she was fine, Donnie needed some serious bed rest. Well, here we are 7 weeks later and wondering if there are puppies in there. So Thursday I go for a sonogram on her to see. He is pretty virile my old boy, so I know there is something going on in there. That's my latest Donnie story. He's tailless, but not taleless! LOL.
