Default Re: Is there anywhat to get "papers" for a breed?

My husband and I have a bueatiful breed of white Pit Bull puppies with spots only on their bellies. We have bread our female twice and they are all healthy and bueatiful. But they have no papers to say what breed they are. We got the mother from the pound and on her pound papers it says pit bull mix.But we have no real paper work. Does anyone know if there is a way to establish a bloodline and get papers?

No, you wont be able to establish any 'real' paper work, especially on a mix breed. You would have had to buy a purebred from a breeder and obtained papers from them,or you would have had to start your own breeding program with your own lines, but then again that all starts with other registered and papered animals. The key word here is purebred which you don't have. The puppies sound really cute though, you shouldn't have a hard time finding good homes for them.

There are registries that will provide papers for mixed breeds, but you have to have papers to start with. For instance, there are breeds not recognized by AKC such as bandogges. They are registrable with UKC as long as you have the purebred parents' pedigrees.

If you do not have papers for the parents parents, you have no way to start. You would have to provide at least the grandparents pedigrees to the registering entity.

Contact UKC. I think they are at www.UKC.org, but I will check and get back to you.
