It's my own fault and a long story, but my whole 55 gallon tank is drowning in bacteria. All three of my Gouramis have Drospy plus the 10 neons. I've been treating the tank with Maracyn-two for 5 days and I don't see any difference. I'm tried of watching my fish suffer with this. Can any one tell me how to dispose of the fish Humanely? You know I just looked at my last post on this Forum. The one about taking all of the carbon out of the filter of my tank. And just above it is this one and I'm asking how to put my fish to death so they can stop stuffering from what ever ales them. Believe me the two are not related. I took the carbon out of my tank after I found out my fish were ill. So not to remove the meds. Anyway, not many changes from yesterday. Looks like my Yellow Gouramis won't need my help going to the Big Ocean in the sky. Just Me |

Dropsy can be difficult to treat. MAracyn 2 is one of the better medications to use, but hte dose on the box in inaccurate. You'll need to double the dose in order to reach a therapeutic level. Also, this disease takes time to cure. I would wait before starting any other course of action. Frank M. Greco Professional Aquarist http://www.frankmgreco.com http://www.franksaquarium.com |
