Has anyone ever used Melafix and it caused your tank to look cloudy or the glass slimy? Thanks

I have used Melafix plenty of times without this happening. Are you using the correct dosage? Melafix is just an antibiotic--cloudy water sounds like a biological change. I would test the water and do a change if need be. NO ONE CONFUSES ME--I DO IT MYSELF! |

MelaFix may, sometimes, cause the water to become slightly cloudy. I'm not sure why this is so, but it may be due to a eraction of the product to something in your water. The cloudiness is harmless, and will go away over time. As to the slimy feel to the glass, this may be due to bacerial slime, not MelaFix. Also, this product is an antibacterial, not an antibiotic. It does not appear to effect biological filtration when used at the advised dose. Frank M. Greco Professional Aquarist http://www.frankmgreco.com http://www.franksaquarium.com |
