I wouldn't think that keeping northern pike or musky in an aquarium would be illegal. The size limit is for anglers. I have been to some sights that you can order pike and musky fry by the dozen. A pet store by me sells tiger musky and bowfin. Do you have four of them? They would live together for alittle while but not there whole life. Once they get over a foot they won't be able to turn around in a 55 gallon tank. I would build a big garden pond for them. They are predators and will probably only eat live food. I would put some small minnows in with them to get them eating. Then try to get them to take frozen minnows. I use to musky fish in Wisconsin every year. I do know that they are territorial. If you do have musky they won't like each other once they start to mature.

Hello. Just to answer your question. It is against the law (not sure if canadian or provincial law) to keep native fish species in an aquarium or pond.

It is usually illegal to keep any type of game fish, especially undersized ones, in a home aquarium without the proper permit.

How is it that pet stores can sell channel cats. Thats a game fish, how can they legally sell that species of fish?

2 possible ways i belive,
one is that it is legal to take wild fish out of there natural habitat and keep them,
or the other way,
is that that pet store is aloud to raise the catfish and then sell them,

i know that "cabelas" the fishing, hunting, sporting goods store in the USA, sells bluegills, bass, and catfish,
talk to your pet store they will probaly say how they get them legally,
or your local or state fish and game department

These fish, along with others mentioned in the post above, are pond raised and are not being removed from the wild. These fish, I believe, are exempt.

I believe that is the case Frank. I ordered Bass and Channel cats from a place, they compared my zip code to some kind of list the officials give them and determined it was legal for them to sell them to me. All their fish are bred and raised in their hatchery.

Default new pet

I used to have a northern, but it died. I've got a theory why, and it won't happen again, but that is besides the point for now. What I was wondering is where you sent in to to get your bass, etc. I would really like a new northern, and was hoping I could get some info on a fish farm with them. ty

There are some bad people who train these dogs to fight people. Those are the media stories that you hear about all the time.
It is not typical of the breed. They are however, a very powerful dogs that can be dangerous if not properly trained
or if a bad owner trains them for aggression. Not because they are vicious in nature but because they are so powerful that they can do damage even unintentionally.
