Okay, I mostly stick to the dog section but my sister gave my daughter an aquarium for Christmas and we got her some fish. The temperature of the tank is kept at 74 degrees, and I change the filter every 6 weeks. The other fish are doing GREAT, but the sucker fish keeps dying! ![]() Is there anything extra I should be doing? BTW, every time I add new water to the tank, I let it sit to room temperature in her room (treated it with Start Right too). All the fish (mainly goldfish and 1 shunbunkin) eat Wardley Goldfish flakes. |

Do you even need the sucker fish? Is there a lot of algae? How big is this tank vs. the number of goldfish? If the pleco is not getting enough algae, he may be starving. Usually these fish are the toughest, but not without food! Algae wafers are a staple, but slices of zuchinni banded to a rock are a yummy treat that the goldfish may ignore.
