i have had my lovebird for 7 or 8 months now and I had him trained quite well. but recently he has been biting a lot and I don't know how to stop it. i don't react when he bites me because i was told not to. i don't know what to do!!!! help! please! |

Lovebirds can be wonderful pets but it is not uncommon for them to sometimes become aggressive as they mature. If you have only one bird and he has bonded with you, he may only be going through a phase of negative behaviour, which you can hopefully with patience change. To help you solve this problem, I would need more information and details from you, such as, in what situations is he reacting this way.

Kem, I had a love bird of 3 yrs.,, he was such a sweet baby, then all of a sudden he started to bite to where he drew blood.. I asked my v et what i sgould do, he suggested that i use a spray bottle when he bites ,when you spray him say no in a firm voice, it worked with mine, now i can hold him and kiss him without any more bitting

cathy~boots is very aggressive when he is on my shoulder, my head, or when he sees my fingers movie a lot. He really likes to bite them. i understand when he bites my neck because i never take my necklace off and its shiny and he looooooooves to bite shiny things. and he loves to bite my hair!! but i just don't get what to do?? thank you for your help! mickey~of all of the ideas that i have read yours was the best. so i'm going to try it and see if it works!!! thank you both so much!
