Default Re: HELP! Algae bloom in 3 week old tank

I've had this 20 gal. tank with under gravel filter on top fin 20-30 power filter. I've had no problems with algae before. Testing revealed pH was a little high so I lowered pH with some vinegar. Added 2 new angel fish and this morning when I woke up I had an algae bloom. Any ideas?

I would guess the vinegar killed some bacteria, the tank will need to recycle perhaps.

Why did add vinegar? You should use a PH buffer to lock in the PH.
