I have a puppy who is 4 1/2 months old. He is VERY energetic, and my two 2 year old cats are not sure what to make of him. The one wants nothing to do with him, while the other likes to play occasionally, but never stays around too long. Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas to make them like each other better? Will it ever happen???

How long have you had the puppy? Perhaps your cats need some more time to accept the fact that he is here for good, and to get used to him. They are not aggressive with the puppy - that's a good start. The one who wants to play is likely to become even friendlier. The other one should come around as well.

I would give it a few more months for the cats to adjust to having the puppy around. You could try getting the three together in a room, but I really think that time is the key here. It doesn't sound like they despise the puppy and are attacking it now, so that is definitely a good sign that they will become friendlier with the puppy.
