Can anyone tell me how old a kitten should be before it is taken away from mom for about 90 minutes? This is the 1st litter of kittens that my daughter has been here to witness the births of, and she would like to have me bring one to her class at school.

I take my kitties to my students at the elementary school as "class pets." They help take care of their grooming, and they learn about how to take care of animals. I often have students who have never had an animal before, so we discuss proper training, medications, vet visits, and behavior problems. This ensures that for a lifetime, these children will know how to properly care for their pets!! Last edited by sanderson; 06-16-2009 at 06:14 PM. |

I think that's a wonderful idea! We had a class hamster and had to take turns having it home over the holidays. We had it two days and my dad was going nuts because it was running on its wheel all night long. Kittens would have been much cooler.
