Some vets will do it as early as 8 weeks.
There has been studies done on waiting till the dogs mature before spaying/neutering.

Unhappy I waited too long.......

I had a German Shepherd and he was 2 years old and he was the best dog I ever had. Then one day he went Cujo on us? He went after my 1 year old and went ballistic then my wife threw him outside and he attacked the door ? It was weird? The vet said that to nueter him was too late the hormones were already in his blood, and nuetering him probably wouldn't do much. So we had to find him a home and it broke our hearts......But the lessons learned were
1.Don't buy a Shutzlin 3 title Dog(attack is part of that tittle) we did not know?
2.Nueter him early as possible
3. Do your research first!!

SchH dogs are not trained to attack.
Properly trained dogs don't just snap.
There had to be something else happening.
And if he was a loose cannon placing him would only get you sued if it happened again.

Cool Its a mystery?

We don't know why he snapped? He was fine for years and it was a hot day in June and he just went crazy? Not that I want to rehash this again. But my 2 year old was playing with his tail through the gate and he snapped? And the third part of the training is attack, he was never trained . But his parents were so it was in his genes? Anyway , I don't want to debate this with anyone it was hard enough to let him go. And we found a very good home for him it was a lesson learned. Lets just leave it at that!
